Funding for NHS Research Infrastructure
CSO allocates over £42million to Scottish NHS Boards to maintain a robust infrastructure and successfully deliver trials and studies.
Funding is allocated in many cases to reflect the level of activity and a mixture of funding streams have been developed in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure fairness and transparency.
The key funding streams for supporting research infrastructure in Scotland are:
- NRS Researcher Support
- NRS Service Support
- NRS Infrastructure
- NRS Management
The NRS funding guidance document sets out how information on activity is used to inform allocations for the Researcher Support and Service Support elements of NRS funding to NHS Boards. This is revised annually, and the current guidance is for allocations during the financial year 2018-19.
