New report makes recommendations to improve clinical research for participants

9th August 2024

The Health Research Authority has published a new report that has made a series of recommendations for how to improve clinical research for participants

The People-Centred Clinical Research project was carried out in partnership with members of the public, researchers and academics from the University of Lincoln, and asked more than 400 people about their experiences of health and social care research.

Using this feedback the report identifies the hallmarks of good people-centred research and the barriers to doing it. It also makes 19 recommendations for system-wide action and asks the research community to use the report to help make improvements to future research.

You can find out more about the People-Centred Clinical Research project on the HRA’s website where you download the final report and a series of resources for researchers to use.

If you have any feedback about the project or the report please email communications@hra.nhs.uk.
