NRS Career Researcher Fellowships 2015
29th September 2015
Applications are now open for a fifth round of NRS Career researcher fellowships.
The NRS Career Researcher scheme was launched in 2011 to support NHS-funded clinical staff in developing a research career within their NHS post. The award provides funding for protected time to contribute to, conduct and lead clinical research. This will lead to strengthening the research culture in the NHS and to increasing capacity in areas that are either aligned to research excellence either locally or nationally or areas where the potential exists to develop research excellence.
This year we are refocusing the scheme to target individuals who are not currently research active but would wish to develop research in their post. We are keen to encourage more applications from nurses and allied health professionals.
The scheme will allow the successful applicants protected time from April 2016 to March 2019 to engage in the following activities:
1.Clinical research planning and protocol development
2.Grant writing
3.Carrying out clinical research
4.Leading or hosting multi-centre trials as chief investigator or local principal investigator
5.Participation in commercial research
6.Dissemination of research findings, such as writing papers and presentations at major national and international scientific meetings
The deadline for receipt of applications into the CSO office is Friday 13th November 2015. More details about the fellowships and the application process can found on the NRS Fellowships page.
